Beginning Tuesday, September 8th, 2009, the town of Erie began four capital improvement projects at the Erie Municipal Airport. These projects are anticipated to be completed by November 4th, 2009. The runway will be closed on weekdays during the construction, but will be open from 6am Saturdays through 7am Mondays.

The four capital improvement projects are:

1. Replacement of the runway lighting system
2. Construction of a new mid-field Taxiway A3 and construction of a new east connector
3. Joint and crack sealing of runway 15/33 and taxiway A
4. Restriping runway 15/33 and taxiway A

Skyraider Aviation has moved our operation to Centennial during the period of the closure. Our Gobosh 700 is now available for training and rental. Our Evektor SportStar has gone on a private leaseback, and is not available for rental. Our Remos is down for extended maintenance, and so will not be affected by the closure.

Because of the increased expenses associated with operating out of Centennial, our rental rate has increased to $99/hour.

Location: Our temporary location is in the Alpha North hangars, Unit 19A. These are the northern most hangars at Centennial Airport. Unit 19A is in the northern most row, 2nd from the west.

Directions: From I-25 take exit 197 for CO-88/Arapahoe Rd. Go east on Arapahoe for approximately 2 miles, then turn right onto S. Peoria. Go about a half mile on Peoria, through the intersection for Easter Ave, then turn right into the driveway for "Alpha North" hangars. Take the driveway all the way to the top of the hill and around to parking in front of the hangars.
